Official Korean permit data

SelectBNBs uses API access issued by Korea's Public Data Portal to retrieve accommodation permit records published by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Each result includes its government dataset and record update time.

What the check does

From a listing registration block to an official permit record

Korean booking listings may show a local permit number, business category, issuing region, registered name, or management number. The strongest results come from pasting the full block rather than one short number.

SelectBNBs checks eight accommodation permit categories from Korea's Public Data Portal and returns the matching government source.

Two answers stay separate. The government record tells you whether a permit exists and its reported operating status. The listing match tells you whether the details supplied identify that same registered business.

Checking an Airbnb registration in Korea

How do I check an Airbnb registration number in Korea?

Paste the registration details into the form above. Include the permit number, issuing area and category, plus the property's Korean name or address if available. SelectBNBs searches eight official accommodation permit datasets and shows any matching records, their status and source dates.

Where can I find the Airbnb registration details?

Look for Registration details on the listing, often near the Things to know section. The layout and labels can vary. Copy the whole block, including the issuing area, permit type and number. If you cannot find it, ask the host for the registered Korean business name, address and accommodation permit details.

What is a rural homestay permit?

Rural homestay, 농어촌민박업, is one of the accommodation categories published in Korea's LOCALDATA permit feed. A found record reports the business's official status; category-specific operating conditions may still apply.

Why does a short permit number fail to match?

Short local numbers can repeat and the central feed is keyed by a longer management number. Add the registered business name or road address, or paste the entire registration block, to distinguish the record.

Does an active permit prove an Airbnb in Korea is legal?

An active record shows that a registered business is permitted in the stated category as of the source date. Compare the separate listing-match result, name and address with the place you plan to reserve. A permit lookup cannot confirm every operating condition, guest eligibility rule or current safety condition.

Is the Airbnb listing ID or a business registration number the same as a permit number?

No. The number in an Airbnb listing URL identifies a page on Airbnb. A Korean tax business registration number is also different from an accommodation permit. Use the accommodation registration details on the listing. A government record may have both a local permit number and a longer management number.

What should I do if no permit record is found?

A missing match does not establish that a stay is illegal. Names can differ, short numbers may be ambiguous, and records can be outside the covered categories or awaiting an update. Ask the host for the full registration details and Korean business name or address, then check again or contact the issuing local authority.

Can I check a stay in Seoul, Busan or Jeju that is not on SelectBNBs?

Yes. The search uses official Korean permit data, so a stay does not need to be in our collection. Coverage depends on its permit category and the latest available source records. You can run up to three free checks per connection per day.

Can an AI assistant check my Airbnb registration for me?

Yes, if it has an HTTP tool that can submit a request or a browser tool that can use this form. Give it the registration details copied from Airbnb. The public API returns the permit record, source date and a separate listing-match result. No login or API key is needed for the three free checks per public IP per UTC day.
